Living Green - Free Home Electricity

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Living green, does not mean that you are a tree hugger or a fanatic about preserving the environment, shouting to everyone about global warming.
Free home electricity can be achieved by various natural means.

The simple facts are, that you can be quite moderate in your beliefs and still think that man is contributing in some way, to the deterioration of the environment and our planet.

Contrary to what most believe, you can have doubts about global warming and still care about the environment. Our use of fossils fuels and pollution as whole, contributes some damage to the earth.

This common sense thinking, does not make you an extreme environmental activist. Some people may need a big car for their transportation or your family may need big house, that uses a lot of electricity…

The idea is to find a way to use, alternative sources of energy, to maintain this comfortable standard of living - without destroying nature around us.

There are various forms of natural energy, that with today’s modern technology is readily available to make free home electricity.

The two that comes to mind readily, are solar and wind energies. Both of these can be harnessed quite easily and cheaply, to power your home.

The good thing is that both can be can be made available by following simple instructions from a “do it your self kit” ( DIY KIT). For less than $200.00 you can power a number of appliances in your home or your yard.

At some point you may even be able to sell this free home electricity, back to the grid and earn your self some money.

The following website for free home electricity, I found to quite useful and has links to DIY kits for both solar and wind technologies.

Take a look and you might be inspired, to start a project that will not only benefit you, but planet earth and all the people around you.

You can make a difference, and you will feel proud of yourself. This is also a form of self - sufficiency that will bring you great pride and satisfaction.

So go ahead take a look at free home electricity

Procrastination - A Habit To Abolish

Procrastinating is probably one of the worst habits that you can have. An addiction to gambling and drugs, may be the only worse personal habits.

Nevertheless, this is one quality that can retard your self development.
This habit will prevent you from accomplishing a lot of meaningful tasks in your life, and will have you rushing to meet dead lines, that were never there.

Changing from a procrastinator to a doer, is easier said than done. Believe me, I found this one of the most difficult habits rid myself of, and it is still a constant struggle not to lapse into again.

One method that I found quite successful and has being recommended by psychiatrists and teachers, is the idea to reward yourself and to set tasks, in manageable quantities.

“ Bite size chunks” is I believe  the term professionals use.

Take for example writing bills. I found this to be terribly boring, unrewarding and worse, I had to part with money.

I would sometimes purposefully wait until the due date and ended up paying late fees and such…

I thought one month you know what, this has to change. I decided to set a side one day of the month, preferably a day when no one was around and write all the bills.

I rewarded myself with something I liked to do. You can have a meal or a drink or buy yourself a gift.

I made this a habit in tasks that I did not like and soon they became routine tasks.

This same method can be applied to home work from school, boring work projects and home tasks -  or anything that you find your self saying. I will take care of that tomorrow.

Imagine the benefits that are associated with these tasks and you will get to doing them quicker. You will soon find the procrastinator in you, has gradually vanished.

You will find your self pursuing bigger projects, maybe a career change, a hobby that you long wanted to start.

Your fears of doing things will also gradually disappear, your motivation to do difficult and boring tasks will increase.

This habit of procrastination, is one well worth the task of eliminating from your life.

You will accomplish more things in a shorter time than you thought were  possible. Also, you will find your self being more punctual, which is not a bad side effect.

So, don’t procrastinate act now, you know the saying  says, what can be accomplished today, is an investment for tomorrow.

Spirituality - A Quality To Strive For

The question is often asked, what is spirituality? I believe everybody has to figure this out for themselves. Since it is not rooted to a particular religion or belief.

The general theory is some divine or cosmic connection to a higher being, or a revelation within one’s self, triggered by some incident or accident, maybe a dream, a speech or a person.

This divine intervention can lead to the road map of your life and awaken the spirituality within you. Why are you attracted to certain people? Comfortable doing some tasks.

Successful at some businesses or jobs but disappointed with others. Why are some tasks easily accomplished?  and others a burden.

A spiritual connection can help you to progress in the right direction. Some people believe that  angels guide them to make certain decisions and can help them accomplish difficult tasks.

This has being a belief also attributed to Saints. Where some are prayed to, for guidance in acquiring good fortune, legal help and to remove evil spirits among many other requests.

Spirituality therefore, is something we are all probably born with. The secret lies in unlocking this quality within ourselves. No easy task I believe. Good and bad is everywhere. One’s task is to correctly distinguish between the two -  correct the bad and reinforce the good.

Arm yourself with a belief that you can accomplish anything… and your spiritual self will help you achieve the results you are looking for. You will marvel at the way opportunities arrive and burdens are removed -  tasks accomplished.

Trust your judgement and your instincts and your spiritual self will reward you with a meaningful life and your self development will soar…

Personal Growth - A Life Long Journey

We never stop growing as a person. The growth can be either negative or positive, depending on our circumstances. I suspect however, that we all want positive personal growth and self-development.

All of us have that inner ability, to develop our ourselves, beyond our imaginable capacity. We all are gifted in different ways.

Personalities are divided into groups, where some are thinkers, other are doers, some are leaders and others are followers. They are many such categories and sometimes they are intertwined.

We have certain strong and weak characteristics. You may even be born from the same parents and exhibit completely opposite characteristics.

The difficulty lies, in flushing out the bad side of your personality. This task is difficult, because nobody likes to admit, that they may have certain negative qualities.

A tremendous amount of self examination is required, for you to admit that a certain quality may be detrimental… to you and to the people around you.

Once you can look in the mirror and get beyond your ego. Then this is a tremendous first step, on the road to personal growth and self-development.

Look at your goals in life, look at the thing that make you happy and those that make you angry or feel insecure.

Are you interested in money and materials things only? or do these things matter, but are not the sum end game.

Personal growth can be achieved, if you have satisfaction in the following areas:

1. Your relationships - Relationships, whether with your spouse, friends and family are two ways streets. You have to work at them, spend time together. A phone call, if someone is far away, makes people feel special.

A card on their birthday goes a long way, in saying how special someone is. This idea of giving will eventually fill you with warmth, that you are making a difference in someone’s life and your self- development grows as a result.

2. Your career - A successful career goes a long way in promoting personal growth. Do something you love. This is easier said than done and many of us are caught in jobs we hate.

Summon the courage to make a change and you will reap immense rewards in the future, because work, will not be a job anymore…

3. Your Health - Staying healthy is one of life’s real challenges. Stress and age  make your body less healthy and more susceptible to medical problems.

Try to adapt a fitness regimen to your schedule. You can start with five minutes in the morning and then gradually increase the time, as you make progress.

Personal growth can only be achieved by staying healthy and feeling good about your self.

4. Your Passions - Being passionate about something adds strength and vigour to your life. A hobby, a sport, a new way of making money.

Whatever, makes you smile and gives your body a tingle. This past time, will add great satisfaction to your life and improve your personal growth.

5. Financial Rewards - Don’t be fooled by people who say that money cannot make you a better person. I have never met a rich person who wanted to exchange places with a poor person.

Having a sound financial ground to stand on, eases a lot of pressure on your personal and professional life. This allows you to make choices, that will promote your self-development and personal growth.

If we can achieve satisfaction in the areas above, your life will be far more fulfilled and complete.

You will greet everyday as if it is your last, trying to accomplish as much as you can and your personal growth and self-development will soar higher than the clouds.

Self-Esteem - Do You Have It?

Self-esteem sometime gets confused with self confidence. Even though they are related, they are actually quite distinct from each other. Self confidence relates to your ability and your thinking about future performances.

Self-esteem, has more to do with your beliefs, for example, am I smart or foolish? or emotionally, am I shy or outgoing?

Your self-esteem has a great deal to do with your upbringing and your experiences in life. Whether positive or negative. These translate into thoughts like, I feel proud of myself… I always do good things or I always mess up and so on.

Many theories suggest, that self-esteem is a basis for motivation. Psychologists suggest, it is a need for respect from others, meaning your friends, family and maybe the public, to be proud of you and to recognise your achievements.

Then there is an inner self-esteem. That is a  respect for your self. How you believe you are perceived, within your own eyes. Sometimes also, we measure ourselves by how we are accepted, within our own social circle.

One concept that has being misunderstood in the past, is that a high self-esteem is necessary for good grades. Research has shown that this is not true. Actually the opposite can be true.

That an inflation of self-esteem can lower your grades. The findings have suggested, that good grades may be possible because of a high self-esteem, but it is not necessary to accomplish this.

Recently, some researchers and philosophers have come to the conclusion, that self-esteem is highly over rated. That all of us have good and bad qualities. The idea is to strengthen and take worth, in the good qualities and try to conquer your bad qualities.

Accept your own self-worth, disregard the factors that people  say, your self-esteem is based on, that is -  Physical attractiveness, gaining other’s approval, academic competition, God’s love, competitiveness, and virtue.

Celebrate your self, with your limitations and your own unique qualities and you will see, that you have loads of self-esteem and can conquer any task, accept any responsibility and achieve any goal…

Creativity - We All Posses This Trait

Creativity has being around since the birth of all species. Both animals and man have creative powers.

The though process of creating something, is the emerging of new ideas and concepts, to solve problems, or just simply arriving at something never seen, or heard of before.

Man has Forever push the boundaries of invention and have constantly created, as the needs have arrived.

One of the greatest inventors, Leonardo Da Vinci had a slew of inventions, some of which present day man still have not come to terms with.

He was an exceptional human being in that he could also sculpt and paint with the best of them. I do not think, we can all be so gifted.

Nevertheless, we are all in some way, shape or form and given the right conditions… able to create and invent.

The creative though process is said to occur mostly in the frontal lobe of the brain or what scientists called forehead thinking.

The process of creativity, involves some complex relationships, that we have still not figured out. What we do know, is that two strains of thoughts influence the creative process.

1. positive thinking

 2. Negative thinking.

When we are positive, our whole outlook is optimistic, bright and of the mind set, that we can solve any problem. This is the opportunity for all of us while in this nirvana,  to have creative thoughts, to strategize and to solve problems.

On the other hand when we are at stage  of negative thinking… our though processes are hindered by obstacles and we cannot move beyond self doubt. In this state of mind, you cannot solve any problems or come up with any original ideas.

The lesson should be, that no matter what the circumstances, to achieve self progress and to be creative… we must at all times be positive, in our outlook.

Anatomy Of An Unhappy Relationship

Sometimes it happens in life that initial judgements are bad.  An unhappy relationship begins.

Take for instance, the person that you decide is the one.  Someone You would like to  introduce to your family, trust with your money, your critical decisions and spend the rest of your life with.

Then you discover after a few months, maybe years, maybe even a marriage and kids, that this person is not the one you really wanted.

The initial qualities you saw and admired, have changed and what you really admired was a facade, infront of an interior, that you are disappointed with.

As a consequence, negativity steps in, everything now begins to look bad. Even if this person tries, nothing pleases you any more.

A fundamental rule of life, that may or may not be documented. Do not surround yourself or become attached to someone, who does not allow you to follow your dreams.

Prohibits you, from having relationships with family and friends. Is Jealous of your achievements, diminishes and ridicules your dreams and aspirations.

Get rid of this person, No matter how painful it seems, no matter what the public says. You will be the one to suffer ultimately.

You will regret, delaying your decision, not to rid yourself of this person, as times goes by.

Some people who are reading this may scoff and say. Easier said than done. There are children, money, property, family and cultural traditions involved.

Go Ahead, take a chance on your own happiness and survival. This may sound selfish. Nevertheless, Wealth can be accumulated again, money can be earned and a house is nothing without happiness.

Your children, the most important reason why people stay in an unhappy relationship. They probably will detest your decision at first - but if they see you are happy apart, they will eventually understand, that you have made the correct decision for yourself and them.

One fundamental factor, people do not take into account, is that their children will grow up, form their own relationships and move on.

Then where are you ? Thirty years later, thinking they would have been by your side, in your unhappy relationship.

The lesson is that a bad realtionship and it’s negative aura, brought about by someone, you are no longer happy with, will have a retrogressive effect on you.

This will lead to greater unhappiness, lack of self-confidence and your entire life, will seem meaningless and without true purpose…

Take a chance on yourself. Fight for your freedom. Spread your wings, dream and work on your dreams…

Live consciously and with time, an unhappy relationship will seem but a distant memory, and you will say, how did I ever allow that ?

Religious People - The Great Pretenders

I have to warn you this is a controversial subject - Be Warned!

I have no problems with religions and religious people. I am somewhat religious myself, even though I never attend churches or temples etc. I do believe in the existence of God.

Even though I have a scientific background, I find it hard to believe in a big bang theory, that says we arrived as Apes and evolved into this wonderful body, personality and brain. You get the picture.

On the other hand, some people find it difficult, that some guy or Gal up above, having nothing to do, just decided to create a super specie that have intelligence above animals.

Take your pick on the above two schools of thought. That’s another subject, for another day.

Today, I am writing after observing people of all religions, commit the same acts. This has nothing to with culture or race, but more with the human psyche.

You can say that this situation is amusing, if it were not committed in such astonishing proportions. I am sure you know people like this, or you may fall into the group… sorry!

I am referring to those group of people who attend every religious function, celebrate every festival, fast, pray…

As soon as they are out of these situations, they start to criticize their family, friends, neighbours, even the Priest, Pastor or Minister are not spared.

They plot how to destroy their enemies, plan scams to deprive poor people of their livelihood… and I am sure you can add a few observations here.

Be aware, these people are not limited to strangers, but dwell among your friends and family too.

What is the point of praying, fasting going to church, giving to charity? If your are going down this path.

I am not quite sure, what you can do to make things better, but at least you are aware that someone notices. Motivate yourself to live consciously.

Abundance - What and Where Is Abundance?

When we think of abundance in these times, our thoughts are rather limited, because nothing good seems abundant any more. This is where I think we are wrong.

Things are difficult, the world markets have crashed, the world is in chaos, with one country after another, seeking military superiority. Everything good, seems diminished and the only apparent abundance, are agents of evil, squalor and poverty.

This is where we are wrong, there is an abundance of good will in your neighbour, maybe not the lady next door… but two doors away. There is an abundance of rain, sunlight, snow , trees, everything nature has to offer us, wherever we may be.

Did you ever stop to think how many drops of water it takes for a bucket? Or how many flakes of snow for a spade…? Why sure, an abundant lot. How many leaves on a tree? How much cars on the road? Sure there is abundance all around us.

Then why is money not abundant? This is a question that we have being asking ourselves for hundreds of years. Why do some people have so much and some people so little? I do not pretend to have the answer, but we will try to understand how wealth and money seem to follow some people.

The answer lies in belief. Believe that you can make it and you will. Yes, it will take hard work, sacrifice, sleepless nights, maybe sweat and tears but you can do it. you will have an abundant life

Most wealthy people have the same train of thought. Fix yourself a reasonable goal and work, work hard at it.

Take bite size chunks, drink water and think about your next move. Regard patience as a virtue and impatience as your enemy.

I know about this, because I have learned the hard way, about patience and business. Don’t procrastinate, just do. Think abundance
